nominated in 3 categories:
Young Peacemaker: Bridget Hanchek, lover of all things small, who never holds a grudge.
Adult Peacemaker: Immaculee Ilibagiza, author of “Left To Tell” and survivor of the genocide in Rwanda.
Deceased Peacemaker: William Stafford, conscientious objector and U.S. poet laureate from Oregon.

Each of the 2009 Peacemakers received an engraved
Search For Peace Peacemaker medal,
and a $100 donation to their favorite peacemaking charity.
